Sarah Myer serves as the Evaluator for Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less and Eat Smart, Move More, Prevent Diabetes Programs. Both programs are a collaborative effort of the NC State University and the NC Division of Public Health. In this role she is responsible for all programmatic evaluation activities, overseeing a HIPAA data project, and providing IT support to online participants. Prior to this position, Sarah served as the Research and Evaluation Specialist for the Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less program and the Community & Clinical Connections for Prevention & Health Branch. Her duties included researching health topics, creating content for websites, developing one page and technical documents, creating and maintaining tracking templates for evaluation projects, and providing logistical support to the Justus-Warren Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Task Force.
She previously taught Physical Education and Health in Prince George’s County, Maryland, then later trained teachers and became a Technology Coordinator for the school system. She also provided technical support for computers, software, assistive technology and the school website. Sarah earned a Master of Public Health degree and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Sarah and her husband have a Walker Hound Dog, and she loves hiking, traveling and adventures.
