Jen Sohl-Marion, MPH, RDN, LDN
Healthy Eating and Communications Coordinator
Jen Sohl-Marion serves as the Healthy Eating and Communications Coordinator for the Community and Clinical Connections for Prevention and Health (CCCPH) Branch. In this role, Jen coordinates nutrition projects with the goal of increasing access to and consumption of healthy foods across the state. Jen also manages CCCPH communications projects (e.g., leading the production of statewide media campaigns; producing videos that promote physical activity, nutrition, and diabetes, heart disease and stroke prevention and management; managing content on more than 10 CCCPH Branch and partner websites).
Jen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Secondary Education from The College of New Jersey. She devoted the first portion of her professional career to teaching anatomy and biology to high school students and taking leadership roles to advocate for the needs of students and staff. Having spent over ten years working in the public school system, Jen developed strong interest in school nutrition and the health of her students. With her students and family as inspiration, Jen attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Master of Public Health degree in Nutrition and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentials.
When Jen is not working, she enjoys creating quick and tasty dishes for her family, practicing yoga and hiking in the woods with her playful pups.
